GDC KANIGIRI
Government Degree College, Kanigiri was established in the year 1983, vide Proc.Rc No
221/KI-2/83 of Direction of Higher Education, Andhra Pradesh and it is a liated to
Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur.
Government Degree College-Kanigiri is located near Machavaram village, on the highway of
Kanigiri-Pamuru. It is one among the nine Government Degree Colleges in Prakasam
District of Andhra Pradesh. It is one and only Government Degree College in the backward
area of Kanigiri. The college was established to cater the educational needs of the
students in and around Kanigiri.
VISION:To see all the students,especially from weaker
sections of the society with a rural background empowered with hard and soft-skills that
contribute to the acquisition and development of a good career combined with secular and
human values.
MISSION:To develop and promote a bank of human talent in
diversified areas in strict conformity with secular values that would become an
investment for prosperous and peaceful society.
OBJECTIVE :
To bring out environmental consciousness and make the students to participate in the
community and social development programmes.

CAMPUS :
The College has a beautiful campus in 16 acres of land with 20 class rooms in 5 blocks,
5 acres play fields, running track and courts.
COURSES :
College presently offer two UG Courses B.A and B.Com which have 60 Seats intake per
course; it has a good Library & Reading Room.
